This policy is provided for review and must be confirmed by legal counsel before public launch.
This Data Retention Policy explains how long Airfree keeps different categories of data and what happens to data when it is no longer needed. It supports our commitments under the Privacy Policy and our Data Processing Agreement.
1. Principles
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, to meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we securely delete it or de-identify it so it can no longer be linked to an individual.
2. Indicative retention periods
The periods below are indicative and may vary where the law or a customer contract requires otherwise.
- Account data — retained while your account is active, and for a limited wind-down period after closure.
- Customer content and geospatial datasets — retained for the term of the Service; after termination, made available for export for a limited period, then deleted.
- Operational logs and diagnostics — retained for a short period sufficient for security, troubleshooting, and abuse detection, then deleted or aggregated.
- Billing and transaction records — retained for the period required by Australian tax and corporations law.
- Backups — retained on a rolling cycle and overwritten in the ordinary course; deletion from live systems is reflected in backups within the backup cycle.
3. Deletion on request
You may request deletion of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. We will action deletion requests unless we are required or permitted by law to retain the data, in which case we will restrict its use until deletion is possible.
4. Contact
Questions about retention or deletion can be raised via /contact.
