Reducing our footprint while enabling the spatial data infrastructure that supports better environmental decision-making worldwide.
Cloud Efficiency by Design
Workloads are allocated to the most energy-efficient compute tier available. Autoscaling policies reduce idle capacity by an average of 62% across production clusters.
Renewable Energy Transition
Contracted renewable energy certificates cover 74% of our 2024 data-centre consumption. Target: 100% renewable electricity by end of 2026.
Hardware Lifecycle
End-of-life servers are refurbished and redistributed to partner institutions before certified e-waste disposal. Zero landfill policy in effect since 2023.
Carbon Neutral by 2030
Verified emissions reductions across Scope 1 & 2, with a credible Scope 3 supplier engagement programme and high-integrity offset portfolio for residual emissions.
Social
Building inclusive teams, contributing open data to under-resourced communities, and growing the next generation of spatial technologists.
Workforce Diversity
Targets: 40% women in technical roles and 30% under-represented groups in senior leadership by 2027. 2024 baseline: 29% and 18% respectively.
Community Mapping
The Airfree Community Mapping Programme has produced open cadastral datasets for 14 underserved municipalities across Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
Open Data Initiatives
Over 2.4 TB of processed geospatial data published under open licences on our public data portal, enabling independent research and civic applications.
Education Partnerships
Formal partnerships with 11 universities spanning 6 countries — providing API access, cloud credits, and mentored internship pathways for GIS and CS students.
Governance
Transparent reporting, accountable leadership structures, and ethical supply chains — because trust is earned through conduct, not claims.
Transparency Reports
Annual ESG disclosure follows GRI Standards. Financial statements are externally audited. Data request statistics are published quarterly.
Board Diversity
Independent directors comprise 60% of the board. Gender parity achieved at board level in 2024. Skills matrix reviewed annually against strategic risk.
Supply Chain Ethics
All vendors above AUD $50k are screened against our Supplier Code of Conduct covering labour rights, environmental management, and anti-corruption.
Executive ESG Accountability
ESG KPIs form 15% of executive remuneration. A dedicated ESG Committee reports directly to the board on a quarterly basis.
