Migrating from Google Workspace

Move your team from Google Workspace to Airfree Clouds — export mail, contacts, and calendars, import them, and switch MX with zero downtime.

This guide covers the mechanics of moving a team from Google Workspace to Airfree Clouds. The golden rule is to import data first and switch the MX records last, so incoming mail is never dropped during the move.

Prepare a day ahead

  • Create every user account in Airfree Clouds.
  • Lower the TTL on your MX records to 300 seconds so the cutover is fast.
  • List the shared drives, shared calendars, and groups you will need to recreate.

Import mail, contacts, and calendars

For each mailbox, open Settings → Import & Export → Import from Google, authorise read access, and choose what to bring across. Your Google data stays intact, so both systems run in parallel while you switch.

Switch MX and finish up

Once imports are verified, point your MX records at Airfree Clouds. With low TTLs, new mail arrives within minutes. Keep the Google accounts for a week to catch stragglers, then recreate filters and re-share team drives and calendars, which do not carry their permissions across.
